...on the way...new taillight and plate holder and bars....also after my long last ride i found she was running lean and just a bit too clean...so intermediate jet change too...i always think about bikes i have and updating them and changing bits.,,,trying new stuff...like the bars on the 48. Its not that i dont like the ones that are on it, i love them, they were off my 1926 norton when i got it, i had changed those for a set of bars i got with my 29 rudge. its just that ive been thinking about a slightly higher arm position, also i want to see what i come up with for mounting off a traditional top springer clamp.

machine anvil...
...so the storey goes along these lines...the town where we live was founded in the mid 19th century ...gold was the thing...a town grew and a bootmaker came to town. He started a little shop and bought himself an anvil in 1860. That anvil got passed on through a few generations and then arrived at a property on which i reside now...about half a mile from where the bootmaker had his shop....the man who owned that property sat that anvil in the yard and there it sat for years...a bloke who still lives in this town worked for the anvil owner for some time and asked that his payment be the anvil....the anvil owner said if you can carry it to your car we are square....he picked it up and carried it half way....about ten years later he did some more work for the anvil owner and when asked how much he was owed he simply said "the anvil". except this time he parked much closer and he took it home.
this man...is one of those men that you know has the power of god and the devil within...can make anything with steel, and wood, and lives life in the australian way in the bush, barefoot and with the smarts of only a man like he could have...yesterday he brought the anvil to me and picked it up out of the back of his ute and like the man he is put it on the spot i had reserved for an anvil for the last 4 years....
the anvil came home and sometimes i cant help but feel like i am just a very small man in this world.

model a ...
there has been a project on the back back back burners for a few years now but a recent little push from joycy has spurred me on...i pulled apart the flatmotor the other day and a rebuild is on the way for the motor..., fourspeed borg warner, centura diff, 32 rails and a steel five window coupe that came out of death valley about 6 years ago are the basis for the build...
its gonna be a slow one judging by the speed that ive hit it so far....

straight leg.....
...thought id post some shots of the new vtwin straight leg thats in the shed...i could have used some shots as a reference when making a decision to recommend this frame or not...anyhow, it looks great...there were two straight leg frames to choose from.....apparently one made in the US and one off shore. (maybe someone can confirm that)..this was the more expensive of the two but extremely well priced. cheap even.
