Possible ride / meet / get together / thing / love in.....
My mate Roger Chambers, has been talking about a possible position for a meeting of the minds and machines, that i'm gonna help him organise, for a while now.....so here is a "testing of the waters"....
if a ride to a quiet country destination was organised somewhere around the nsw/vic border....about half way between melb and syd would there be some takers?......
we are thinking only older than 30 years (bikes not humans) and it would be a sat arvo/night/sun morning shindig.....
let me know what you think......email machineshed@bigpond.com or post a comment.

that time of the year...
....i have not had much time to be working in the shed over the last few weeks.....what with getting the garden ready for spring, and watching the weather change and putting a heap of miles on the shovel i've been pretty well busy...but i'm ready for the new projects, mikes wl is almost done ready to strip and reassemble so forgive me this little minute of breathing space if you can....
my garden provides...
oh and i've been listening to this album....
and get a load of this song.

front axle bushes, and brake stay....
all done so mikes wl has two wheels for the first time....i like the proportions on this bike....
made up a series of bushings in order to mount the brake stay to the springer frontend.....of course they must move with suspension travel...i made my own interpretation of the original bushed stay except this time its mounted to a early 70's honda two leader.

he called it a teaser......
d and i went on a road trip yesterday to visit an old friend, slash farmer, slash mechanic, slash custodian.
i've said it before and i'll say it again...the information contained within the minds, hearts and the souls, of the people who have trod the road before us is the thing to embrace in this generation.

wl exhaust...
.... finished tacking up the exhaust for the wl today.... seems like the exhaust element of the build in recent years has taken on new meaning....everybody trying to out-do each other with new and innovative pipes and shapes...
...for mikes bike i just wanted a simple straight through design based on the original wl setup with...
...a little twist at the end. whilst ive seen this little duck around the rear frame downtube a few times before, i was blown away when i saw calebs SIKSIKA and this is a little nod to the beautiful exhaust design on that bike.
I stepped down the pipe diametre to 1 inch and 3/8ths from inch and a half.... after being around open pipes on so many old nortons and rudges i've learned that decreasing the pipe size adds a certain amount of back pressure and also (whilst still loud) will give the note a more crisp and un-fluttery sound....originally i was going for a tuned length twin pipe setup but decided against it when i started tacking up the front section....so, here's a two into one setup with a split under the foot peg.
triumph bonne chop for sale.....
